Litigation & Insolvency

Nicolas Joseph is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. He deals with all types of civil and commercial litigation including the provision of advice in respect of immigration and employment issues, insolvency and asset recovery, and trust disputes. He is a leader of the firm’s Cayman Business Team, advising Cayman Islands Businesses about all aspects of local operations including licensing and regulatory matters. His clients include major international banks and corporations and local businesses.

Educated in the Cayman Islands, England, the United States and France, Nick obtained an L.L.B Honours degree from the University of Liverpool, graduating in 1995.

Nick completed his Professional Practitioners Course through the Cayman Islands Law School and Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He completed his training with Appleby and was admitted as a Cayman Islands Attorney at Law in 1997.

In addition to serving on various Government Boards, Nick is a part time lecturer at the University College of the Cayman Islands and provides training to Immigration Officers on relevant aspects of Cayman Islands Immigration Law.

Nick is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands, an accredited mediator, and immediate past Treasurer of the Caymanian Bar Association. Nick is also a member of various councils including: Investors in People, Financial Services Sub-Committee on Immigration, Caymanian Bar Association, Cayman Islands Adoption Board and the Council of the Cayman Islands Law Society, and is the firm’s official liaison with that organisation.
